WARRIOR SPIRIT CIRCLE The Four Noble Truths Series — Noble Truth #3: The Truth of Cessation By Kohai Dianne Hadad

The Third Noble Truth is Nirodha. It is a liberation one experiences when they let go of their suffering. This happens when one can release from their desire to hold on to what is causing their suffering. One can be in a state of suffering for three reasons:
the first is they are unconscious to their choices; the second, they are resisting the flow and changes of life; and third, they suffer due to the pains of birth, aging, sickness or death. By simply acknowledging your suffering exists and identifying the reason or cause for the suffering, it creates the possibility for you to end your suffering by letting go. When you let go, you are choosing nirvana, a state of enlightenment which transcends suffering.
It is helpful to remember the adage, “Leave the baggage of the past and carry the lesson with you.” With this intent there is a freedom that comes when you can detach from the desire to keep things as they were, to hold on to the person you were yesterday, and release yourself from the sufferings happening to you.
Here is a video that shares a buddhist’s story about “Letting Go”. A great reminder how we may not be able to choose what happens to us, but we certainly have a choice on how we will respond to it.
