Moving upwards we are getting into more internal subtle aspects of our being. It is surprising how speech and communication is all the way up there. At a first glance one would expect speech after Solar Plexus before Heart Centre, because our ego is the one doing most of the talking. Our mind hardly stops and listens the gentle voice of our hearts before spilling out all the chatter. However in a spiritual sense, speech only happens when it's filtered thought the heart and it improves upon silence. It's meant to me the purest way of connecting, sharing and expression. Extremely important for our livelyhood. Stimulates to thyroid glen Develops between the ages 7 to 12 Symbolizes purity and harmony of one’s entire being. Expression of self through the state of all previous chakras. Basic need is self expression, to speak and to be heard Negative triger is lies Physically if effects throat, jaw, voice, hearing, neck When balanced one is no longer conflicted nor pulled into different directions, communication becomes pure and clear. One has resonant voice, good timing and rhythm and is a good listener.  He/she lives creatively. Deficiency: Fear of speaking, small weak voice, difficulty putting feelings into words, shy, tone deaf, poor rhythm. Excess: Too much talking, defensive, gossiping, lying, inability to listen, interruptions, dominant voice. Balancing yoga practices draws attention to this area of the body, shoulder and neck with the emphasis on breath and sound (chanting). Healing Practices: 
  • Sing wherever and whenever you can - in the shower, in your car, while you’re drying your hair.
  • Be completely present in every conversation; listen closely being mindful of your mind’s interruptions.
  • Be honest with those around you at all times.
  • Filter your words through your heart - say ‘NO’ kindly, but firmly.
  • Visualize blue pouring into this chakra.
