We mentioned that chakras are energy centres in our bodies; relating to our endocrine system that governs our physical and emotional health. This means if something is going on at our energy body, it will eventually manifests itself in our physical body. The location of the problem will show us which chakra centre we need to look at.

It is important to understand that once an energy problem manifests physically, then it must be taken care of physically first; however, while doing that it’s crucial to support the healing process at an energy level. This will not only quicken the physical healing; but also, ensures the problem wouldn't return.

There are many ways you can heal and balance your chakras which I’ll be talking about on my next post.

  1. MANIPURA CHAKRA or SUIGETSU
    or SOLAR PLEXUS
    mani-gems, pura-town “city of jewels”

Associated with the element FIRE – colour YELLOW – shape TRIANGE

Located at the solar plexus - above the stomach

Develops between ages 2 and 4

Symbolizes how we manifest ourselves in this word. Our sense of self –
ego identity.

Basic Right is to act and be an individual

 Basic Purpose is transformation

 Negative Emotion is shame

 Physically effects abdominal core.

When balanced we shine like the sun with warmth, humility, joy – we feel confident and in balance with our emotions. Transform challenging situations to opportunities.

Deficiency: Low energy, weak will, letting others take control, poor self discipline, victim mentality, passive, blaming of others.

Excess: Aggressive, dominating, controlling, need to be right, manipulative, power hungry, high tempered, competitive.

Balancing yoga practices focuses on core work, arm balances, crow, camel, twisting poses emphasizing radiance, movement and stimulating the fire within.
