- SVADHISTHANA or SACRAL CHAKRA (DAN TIEN) sva-self, adhisthana-dwelling place
Trying to explain chakras is like explaining colors to a blind person. The word ‘chakra’ चक्र is a Sanskrit word that means “wheel” as well as "circle" and "cycle”. A common metaphor used in ancient text to describe chakra is ‘padma’ or the lotus flower. The energy lines in our body are described like rivers of light. And chakras are major centers where these rivers meet. So according these descriptions we can visualize chakras as rivers of light spinning like a wheel around the center, creating a whirlpool of energy and unfolding like a flowers. This week I will be introducing the Sacral Chakra or Tan Tien. When earth meets water the creation begins.
